About this fabric

This Pelham colourway has a small-scale repeating motif that reads as interlocking chevrons, softened by the weave and the mix of fibres. The palette sits between blue and teal, with pale chalky highlights that lift the darker outlines and keep the pattern from feeling heavy. It is woven in a 133cm-wide cloth with a 45% cotton, 20% viscose, 15% linen, 10% polyester and 10% acrylic composition, giving it a crisp but slightly supple handle. With a repeat of V 8cm / H 9cm approx, the design is neatly proportioned for both upholstery and drapery applications.

How to use it

Use Hilaire Blue on a pair of tailored armchairs or a roman blind where the cool teal notes can sit against oak, painted whitework or brushed metal. Its small geometric rhythm also works well in schemes that need pattern without overpowering a room.

A cool, tailored blue with enough texture to suit both elegant seating and polished curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
