Colefax and Fowler

Alberta Blue

Romilly FabricF4937-04

Alberta Blue reads as a quiet, airy blue with a finely dappled surface and a neat small-scale pattern. The tiny repeat gives the swatch a calm, tailored look rather than a bold decorative statement.

About this fabric

This Romilly fabric from Colefax and Fowler is woven in a 52% cotton, 28% viscose, 20% polyester blend, with an approximate width of 140cm and a vertical and horizontal repeat of 4cm. The surface appears tightly textured, with a pale blue ground softened by warmer, silvery notes that keep the colourway from feeling flat. Its small geometric pattern is crisp and regular, giving the fabric a clean, composed rhythm across the cloth. With no performance features noted, it is best viewed as a decorative textile with a smart, versatile finish.

How to use it

Use this misty blue colourway with pale oak, painted white woodwork and deeper navy accents for a crisp but gentle scheme. It also sits well with linen neutrals where the small pattern can add structure without overpowering the room.

A restrained small-scale pattern that works neatly on tailored upholstery or relaxed curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
