About this fabric

Helia Stripe Red from the Zander Velvets collection by Jane Churchill is a velvet with a compact vertical stripe repeat of approximately 1cm horizontally and no vertical repeat. The 144cm approximate width and 42% viscose, 33% cotton and 25% polyester composition make it a substantial textile with the soft handle and low lustre you expect from velvet. In this colourway, the red feels tomato-rich rather than blue-based, with lighter threads lifting the surface and adding a subtle, brushed depth. The result is a smart, decorative stripe that keeps its pattern visible without looking overly busy.

How to use it

Use this red stripe on an accent chair, banquette or headboard where the narrow repeat can add energy without overwhelming the room. It pairs well with warm woods, brass and quiet neutrals that let the colour stay the focal point.

A crisp small stripe in a rich red tone that suits tailored seating and characterful accent pieces.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Helia Stripe Red without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
