Protea Velvet Charcoal

Protea Velvet Charcoal sets pale, blush-toned leopards and striped zebra against a deep charcoal-black velvet ground. Ochre foliage, beetles and smaller spotted creatures bring concentrated flashes of colour across the dark composition.

About this fabric
The charcoal ground reads almost black in the image, while the velvet surface gives it a soft, light-absorbing depth that makes the ivory, blush, tan and ochre animals stand forward. A pale spotted leopard occupies the upper section, with a striped zebra, standing tiger and curling botanical forms creating a richly layered jungle scene. This 340gsm velvet has a 138cm usable width, with a 64.4cm vertical repeat and 69cm horizontal repeat for aligning the large-scale imagery. Its stated 40m standard length makes it suitable for planning a coordinated upholstery scheme around the generous repeat.
How to use it
Use this deep charcoal colourway on a statement chair, footstool or sofa where the blush leopard, striped zebra and ochre tiger can be seen at close range. Balance its dark, luxe mood with warm timber, aged brass and quiet charcoal or ivory textiles.
A dramatic charcoal velvet for statement upholstery, with blush, ivory and ochre animal and botanical detail.

Pairs well with
A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Protea Velvet Charcoal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
