Glanville Sand

Essential Colours II FabricBF10873.130

Glanville Sand has a softly variegated sand-beige ground, closely woven with a fine herringbone-like texture. Its warm, natural tone is lifted by tiny lighter threads that catch across the surface.

About this fabric

The compact weave creates a small-scale, gently irregular texture rather than a bold printed motif, giving this colourway a calm, tactile appearance. Made from 45% viscose, 35% cotton, 16% linen and 4% polyester, it is 137 cm wide and has a 30,000 Martindale rub test. The 1 cm vertical and 4.5 cm horizontal pattern repeats are subtle enough to work across curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. Glanville Sand must be dry cleaned professionally and should not be washed, bleached or ironed.

How to use it

Use this warm sandy beige on a relaxed armchair or tailored headboard, then pair it with ivory, oat and softly weathered timber for a quietly natural scheme. It also makes understated curtains that add texture without darkening the room.

A warm sand-toned woven texture that brings gentle depth to upholstery, curtains and bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
