Enigmatic Sheer Japanese Ink
Sheers 1 FabricHAF0511-01
Enigmatic Sheer Japanese Ink is a cool, translucent curtain fabric with vertical ink-black and charcoal striations, layered over pale grey and white painterly markings. In the photographed daylight, the cloth allows the garden beyond to remain visible through its dark, fluid folds.

About this fabric
At 65 gsm, this fine sheer has a light, transparent appearance, with daylight passing through the black, grey and white pattern. The 300 cm usable width is accompanied by a 300 cm vertical repeat and 279 cm horizontal repeat, giving the large-scale markings a broad, sweeping presence across a curtain. Fine vertical lines create a softly ribbed visual rhythm, while scattered dark flecks and branching brush-like forms break up the pale ground. The specification also records 85 threads per cm and a standard length of 30 m.
How to use it
Use this cool ink-black colourway at a window where its charcoal bands can temper bright daylight without losing the view. It works especially well with crisp white, pale grey or other quiet, cool-toned finishes that echo the translucent ground.
A cool, translucent statement sheer with painterly depth for full-height curtains.

Pairs well with
A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Enigmatic Sheer Japanese Ink without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
