About this fabric

This colourway shows a dense, tonal plain with no discernible motif, just a fine, peppered texture that catches the light in scattered points. Made from 100% polyester and specified for contract use, it is built for hard-working interiors as well as more tailored schemes. The 80,000 Martindale rub test makes it a strong choice for upholstery, while the back coating supplied to Cigarette & Match to BS5852 adds an important layer of specification confidence. The overall effect is cool charcoal at first glance, then warmer and more mineral as the bronze-brown flecks come forward across the surface. Professional dry clean in situ or wash at 40°C, following the pattern book guidance, helps maintain the fabric’s smart, understated finish.

How to use it

Use Modena Iron on armchairs, banquettes or contract seating where a grounded dark tone is needed without a flat finish. It pairs well with oak, blackened metal and pale neutrals, and the warm flecking softens the look beside leather or stone.
