About this fabric

This solid Sussex Rush colourway has a deep, muted ochre tone rather than a bright yellow, giving the velvet a grounded, warm presence. At 556 gsm and 134 cm usable width, it has the substantial visual weight expected of an upholstery velvet. The close surface texture catches the light softly, creating gentle tonal variation across the otherwise uninterrupted field. With 0 cm vertical and horizontal pattern repeats, the plain design needs no pattern matching; the specification also records 51.5 threads per cm and a 35 m standard length.

How to use it

Use this warm mustard-gold shade on a statement armchair, sofa or upholstered headboard, where its softly shaded pile can add depth without introducing a motif. Pair it with dark timber, tobacco leather or restrained neutral upholstery to balance the ochre warmth.

The deep mustard-gold velvet brings warm, softly changing colour to upholstered seating and occasional furniture.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
