Racing Stripe Lovat

Mulberry Stripes II FabricFD788.R106

Racing Stripe Lovat combines a subdued lovat-green ground with closely spaced vertical stripes in taupe, sand, brown and blue-grey. Fine herringbone-like motifs add a tactile, quietly graphic detail between the stripes.

About this fabric

Woven from 68% cotton and 32% jute, this 134 cm wide fabric has a dry, textured surface that gives the muted green colour a softly varied depth. The vertical arrangement mixes slim plain bands with narrow chevron or leaf-like lines, alongside fine brown, tan and cool blue-grey accents. Its 33.5 cm horizontal pattern repeat supports careful pattern planning across curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. The restrained lovat palette reads earthy and cool rather than bright, while the dense stripe structure gives it a smart, tailored character.

How to use it

Use the softened lovat green on a reading chair, sofa or headboard with warm timber, taupe upholstery companions and aged brass. As curtains or a bedspread, its narrow vertical rhythm adds height without overwhelming a calm, earthy room.

Its muted lovat ground and tailored vertical striping suit upholstered seating, relaxed curtains and coordinated bedspreads.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Racing Stripe Lovat without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
