Orton Yellow has a softly dappled, painterly look, with warm mustard threads sitting over a pale grey ground. The overall effect is light-catching and textural rather than bold.

About this fabric

Woven in a substantial 550gsm cloth, Orton Yellow is suited to curtains, blinds and upholstery, with a usable width of 140cm. The fabric is composed of 45% viscose, 25% polyester, 20% cotton and 10% linen, giving the surface a refined woven texture with gentle structure. In this colourway, the yellow reads as softened mustard and antique gold, broken up by cool grey and chalky white specks that keep the design airy. The repeat is 17.5cm horizontally and 21.5cm vertically, creating an abstract, drifting pattern that feels smart without being stiff. It is dry clean only and iron safe.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a tailored armchair, ottoman or relaxed curtain to bring warmth to a room without overwhelming it. It works especially well with oak, stone and off-white schemes, where the muted gold tones can add depth.

Pair with warm neutrals and pale woods to let the golden yarns glow.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
