Orton purple

Diffusion Fabricorton/fa1/hea

Orton Purple has a softly weathered look, with a muted mauve-purple ground lifted by pale, pebble-like patterning. The finish reads textured and refined rather than bright or glossy.

About this fabric

This fabric is woven in a substantial 550gsm quality and has a usable width of 140cm, making it well suited to curtains, blinds and upholstery. The surface shows a fine slubbed texture, while the pattern appears as irregular vertical trails of light markings against the purple-grey ground. Its 45% viscose, 25% polyester, 20% cotton and 10% linen composition gives the cloth a balanced, tactile feel, and the dry-clean-only care suits a more tailored interior scheme. The repeated motif measures 17.5cm horizontally and 21.5cm vertically, so the design will read clearly without feeling oversized.

How to use it

Use Orton Purple where you want colour with restraint: it brings a cool, misty purple note to sofas, roman blinds or full-length curtains. It works especially well with chalky whites, silvered woods and softened greys.

Pair with warm neutrals to let the mauve-purple ground and pale motif stay softly refined.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
