Dan Charcoal
Kuba FabricL9456-07
Dan Charcoal reads as a deep, near-black brown with a softly mottled woven surface. The close weave gives the colour a quiet matte depth rather than a flat solid finish.

About this fabric
Part of Larsen’s Kuba collection, this fabric is composed of 60% cotton, 16% polyester, 13% viscose and 11% linen, with an approximate width of 140cm and no repeat. In this charcoal colourway, the yarns settle into a dark brown-black tone that feels warm and subdued rather than icy grey. The visible weave adds a fine textural grain across the surface, giving the cloth a tailored, tactile character. With its balanced handle and understated appearance, it is well suited to schemes that need a grounded neutral with a little softness.
How to use it
Use Dan Charcoal on tailored upholstery, relaxed cushions or simple curtains where the dark neutral can frame lighter woods, stone and chalky neutrals. It works especially well when you want a shadowy base that still feels warmer than a true black.
A versatile dark neutral that adds depth without looking harsh.

Pairs well with
Dan Charcoal is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
