Lapura Velvet Indian Red combines a deep, warm crimson ground with an intricate antique-gold damask of scrolling foliage, stylised flowers and fruit forms. The dense velvet surface gives the colourway a richly shaded, tactile appearance.

About this fabric

This velvet is woven from 56% cotton and 44% linen and measures 132 cm wide. Against the saturated Indian red ground, the large-scale motifs appear in muted gold, olive-gold and parchment tones, creating strong tonal depth rather than a bright contrast. The repeating arrangement includes symmetrical floral emblems, curling leaves and small sprigs, with a 59 cm vertical repeat and 33 cm horizontal repeat. It is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads.

How to use it

Use this deep red colourway on a statement armchair, upholstered headboard or full-length curtains where its antique-gold pattern can read as a focal point. Pair it with warm timber, aged brass and quiet neutral upholstery to balance the saturated ground.
