Little Book of Morris Fabrics FabricMOF0197-02

Little Chintz Russet presents a tightly packed floral pattern in warm russet red, muted gold and cream. The small repeating motifs create a richly detailed surface with a distinctly traditional chintz character.

About this fabric

This 300 gsm fabric has a usable width of 139 cm and a thread density of 19.5 threads per cm, giving the design a substantial mid-weight presence. Its 37 cm vertical repeat and 35 cm horizontal repeat keep the floral medallions closely ordered across the cloth. In this Russet colourway, red-brown leaves and flowers sit against a creamy ground, while ochre-gold details add warmth without making the palette overly bright. The dense pattern reads as decorative and composed, with enough tonal variation to show the repeat clearly at close range.

How to use it

Use Little Chintz Russet on a traditional armchair, seat cushion or pair of curtains where its warm red-brown ground can sit alongside timber, aged brass and cream upholstery. The gold and cream accents also make it effective for adding depth to a softly neutral room.

Use the warm russet, cream and gold palette to bring traditional pattern to upholstery, cushions or full-length curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Little Chintz Russet without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
