Shetland Plaid Blue is a cool-toned woven plaid built from deep blue, charcoal and muted teal stripes. Fine tan lines add definition across the softly textured wool surface, while the darker checks give the colourway a grounded, atmospheric depth.

About this fabric

The pattern combines broad blue and blue-grey bands with charcoal crossings, narrow teal lines and occasional warm tan pinstripes. Its woollen weave has a softly brushed, tactile appearance, and the darker threads make the blue read as muted rather than bright or saturated. Made from 100% wool, the fabric is 150 cm wide and has a 24,000 Martindale rub test, making it suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. The plaid repeats every 35 cm vertically and 29.5 cm horizontally, giving the checks a clearly readable but not oversized scale.

How to use it

Use this cool blue plaid on a fireside chair, sofa or loose cover where its charcoal depth can balance pale timber and warm neutrals. It also makes atmospheric curtains or a tailored bedspread, with the fine tan lines offering a subtle link to brass, leather or ochre accents.
