Babington Check Red/Blue shows a tightly woven, small-scale check in muted brick red, cool blue and warm cream. Its close grid reads as quietly detailed rather than bold, with the darker threads giving the colourway added depth.

About this fabric

The 40% viscose, 33% cotton and 27% linen construction has a visibly woven textile character, while the compact check combines softened red and blue with fine cream and darker lines. At 140 cm (55") wide, the design has a 5 cm (1.96") vertical repeat and a 3.5 cm (1.38") horizontal repeat, keeping the pattern controlled across a larger surface. A 45,000 Martindale rub test makes it suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. It must be professionally dry cleaned and should not be washed, bleached or ironed.

How to use it

Use the muted brick-red and cool blue check on a favourite armchair, sofa or headboard, then echo its cream threads with neutral walls and natural timber. Its small repeat also makes it easy to carry through into curtains or a coordinated bedspread without overwhelming the room.
