Earnley purple

Diffusion Fabricearnley/fa1/orc

Earnley Purple is a painterly floral on a pale, luminous ground, with lilac blooms and fresh green foliage giving the design a softly romantic feel. The overall effect is airy and botanical rather than dense or dramatic.

About this fabric

This colourway is a 95% cotton, 5% linen fabric with a dry-clean-only finish, iron safe care, and a substantial 230gsm handle. The swatch shows large watercolour-style flowers in layered lilac, mauve and white, with yellow centres and loose green leaves set against a light grey-beige ground. The broad 70cm horizontal repeat and 67cm vertical repeat suit the scale of the motif, letting the blooms read clearly across curtains or blinds. At 140cm usable width, it has enough span for soft furnishings while keeping the printed surface feeling open and elegant.

How to use it

Pair this gentle purple with pale timber, chalky neutrals and brushed brass for a fresh country look. It also brings a softer, more feminine note to bedrooms and garden rooms where the light ground can brighten the space.

Use for airy curtains or Roman blinds where the pale lilac ground and painterly blooms can stay light and expressive.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
