About this fabric

Cantaloupe Velvet in Cherry/Alabaster is a richly textured velvet from Sanderson’s Caspian Prints & Embroideries collection, with a substantial 416 gsm handle. The usable width is 133 cm, and the pattern repeat runs 44.5 cm vertically and across the full 133 cm width, which helps the bold motif read with good continuity on larger pieces. Visually, the fabric pairs a dark cherry ground with alabaster foliage, paprika-pink fruit forms and flashes of gold, creating a warm, saturated look. The velvet pile catches the light for extra depth, so the colours shift from velvety shadow to a soft sheen as the surface moves.

How to use it

This colourway suits upholstered armchairs, ottomans and headboards where the cherry ground can feel dramatic rather than heavy. Pair it with aged brass, dark wood and quieter neutrals so the alabaster leaves and golden fruit details stay prominent.

Use on statement chairs or a feature headboard to bring out the rich cherry ground and glowing fruit detail.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Cantaloupe Velvet Cherry/Alabaster without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
