About this colour

At #8C8572, Spanish Olive reads as a muted olive with grey and brown notes, so it feels warm rather than fresh or grassy. It absorbs more light than it reflects, giving walls a grounded, mellow presence without becoming heavy. In north-facing rooms it can turn cooler and a touch more khaki, which makes the grey side more noticeable. In south-facing light it warms up and shows more of its olive-brown depth, especially in True Matt, while Acrylic Eggshell and Elite Emulsion will give a little more life on woodwork and joinery. It sits well beside natural oak, dark walnut, aged brass and woven neutrals, and it has enough depth to hold its own against patterned upholstery and lined curtains.

How to use it

Use Spanish Olive in sitting rooms, studies or hallways where you want a settled backdrop for painted joinery. It works especially well with oak furniture, walnut chairs, cream linen curtains and warm neutral upholstery.

Spanish Olive brings a calm olive-brown note to a wall and works best where you want depth without darkness.
