About this colour

This shade sits in the middle of grey with a slight warmth, so it reads as grounded rather than blue or steely. On a wall it absorbs a fair amount of light, which gives it depth and makes it feel more settled than a pale grey. In a north-facing room it can look cooler and a little more shadowed, while in south light the warmer side of the colour comes forward and softens the overall effect. It works well beside darker timbers, painted joinery and upholstery in charcoal, taupe, stone or muted green.

How to use it

Use City Grey in a study, hallway or living room where you want the woodwork to feel calm and the walls to sit back. It pairs neatly with walnut, oak, linen shades and upholstery in deep slate, putty or moss tones.
