Voltaire Cassis is shown here in a deep berry tone that sits between plum and dark raspberry. The surface has a subtle woven texture that softens the colour and gives it a quietly lustrous depth.

About this fabric

This Voltaire fabric from Manuel Canovas is supplied at approximately 140cm wide and is composed of 42% cotton, 38% viscose, 15% polyester and 5% linen. The swatch reads as a saturated cassis shade with a warm red-violet cast, darkest in the folds and slightly brighter where the weave catches the light. Its plain, textural surface gives the colour real body without any visible pattern repeat, making the finish feel refined rather than flashy. The cloth’s balanced fibre blend suggests a versatile hand that can suit both upholstery and drapery use.

How to use it

Use Cassis to add a deep jewel-like note against chalky neutrals, dark timber and brushed brass. It works especially well on an accent chair, cushions or curtains where the berry tone can glow in softer light.

Rich berry tones give this textured plain a tailored, atmospheric feel.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
