About this fabric

This plain velvet has a dense, even surface that catches the light with a gentle, tonal nap, giving the colour a subtle shift from olive to softened khaki across the face of the cloth. The shade is grounded and earthy, with just enough coolness to keep it from feeling overly warm. It is supplied in a 137cm width and is suitable for curtains, loose cover upholstery and fixed upholstery. With a Martindale rub test of 100,000 and FR compliance to BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1, it is well suited to both contract and general domestic use. Care is straightforward for a velvet of this kind: dry clean, wash carefully at 30C if needed, and avoid ironing or tumble drying.

How to use it

Use Zinc on streamlined sofas, banquettes or dining chairs where its muted olive tone can read as a refined neutral. It also works well for heavier curtains in rooms with oak, stone or brass, adding depth without overpowering the scheme.

A restrained olive velvet that gives upholstery a tailored, tonal finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
