Elysium purple

iKon Fabricelysium/fa1/sto

Elysium Purple has a cool, slate-toned ground that lets the botanical artwork read softly rather than brightly. The painterly leaves and thistle-like blooms bring together lilac, mauve, blue and silver notes with an elegant, slightly ethereal finish.

About this fabric

Woven in 95% cotton and 5% linen, this fabric has a natural matte handle that suits decorative window treatments and soft furnishings. The visible ground is a muted greyed purple, which gives the design a restrained, dusky mood rather than a saturated jewel tone. Large-scale florals and feathery seed-head forms are picked out in lilac, violet, misty blue and soft blush, with the composition feeling airy against the textured cloth. With a 138cm usable width, 230gsm weight and a 69cm horizontal by 72.7cm vertical repeat, it is well suited to curtains and blinds where the repeat can be shown off.

How to use it

Use this colourway in a bedroom or sitting room where the cool purple ground can sit comfortably with pale oak, chalky plaster tones or brushed nickel. It also works beautifully with deeper plum or midnight accents if you want the painterly florals to feel richer.

Pair with pale neutrals or inky accents to let the painterly botanical detail shine.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
