Clandon Damask Cinnabar

Suffolk Damasks and Stripes FabricZOF0212-02

Clandon Damask Cinnabar has a deep cinnabar-red ground with a darker tonal damask of scrolling leaves, florals and paired birds. The close tonal contrast gives the large design a soft, shadowed depth rather than a bright, high-contrast effect.

About this fabric

This Zoffany fabric is 173gsm with a 138cm usable width, a 148cm vertical repeat and a 69cm horizontal repeat. The symmetrical damask is formed from curling foliage, stylised flowers and mirrored birds, all picked out in subtly deeper red across the ground. In this colourway, the warm crimson-cinnabar tone reads saturated and enveloping, while the tonal surface catches the light gently across the raised-looking pattern. With 236 threads per cm and a standard 50m length, it is a substantial mid-weight option for coordinated upholstery and drapery schemes.

How to use it

Use the deep cinnabar-red tone for full-length curtains in a library, dining room or richly layered sitting room, or repeat it on cushions and occasional upholstery. Balance its formal, large-scale pattern with warm timber, aged brass and quieter natural neutrals.

Use this deep cinnabar damask to bring warm, historic richness to curtains, cushions or occasional upholstery.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Clandon Damask Cinnabar without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
