About this fabric
This plain velvet has the dense, smooth handle and subtle directional sheen you expect from a strong upholstery cloth, and the colourway shows as a layered orchid purple rather than a flat violet. It is woven from 60% Polyester, 28% Recycled Polyester, 8% Acrylic and 4% Viscose, and the 100,000 Martindale rub test supports its use for Contract and General Domestic upholstery. At 137cm wide and with BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1 compliance, it is practical as well as decorative. The stain-resistant finish and care instructions for delicate 30°C washing help make the fabric suitable where a luxurious look still needs everyday resilience.
How to use it
Use this orchid tone to give an armchair, banquette or headboard a bold focal point, especially against dark timber, brass or charcoal paint. It also works beautifully for curtains where the velvet pile can deepen the colour and soften the room.
A rich jewel tone that brings depth and drama to tailored seating or statement curtains.

Pairs well with
Omega Velvet 4 Orchid is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
