Biot Amethyste

Biot FabricM4027-08

Biot Amethyste shows a finely textured, small-scale weave in a muted amethyst tone that reads more taupe than jewel-bright purple. The surface has a quietly mottled look, with tiny flecks that soften the colour and give it depth.

About this fabric

This Biot colourway is woven with a close, nubbly texture that gives the cloth a crisp, tailored feel rather than a smooth finish. The mix of 40% viscose, 30% linen, 26% cotton and 4% polyester brings together a soft touch with a dry, natural-looking body. At approximately 138cm wide and with no vertical or horizontal repeat, it is straightforward to pattern match and versatile to work with. The Amethyste shade is a subdued lavender-plum grey, lifted by lighter yarns and darkened by peppered flecks across the weave. With no performance features noted, it suits interiors where the colour and texture are the main focus.

How to use it

Use it on a tailored armchair, bench seat or loose cover where the muted amethyst tone can sit against oak, walnut or pale plaster walls. It also works beautifully in curtains if you want the weave to add texture without the colour feeling heavy.

A refined muted violet that works well as a tailored upholstery or elegant drape.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
