Chester Espresso

Essential Colour III - Neutral FabricBF11197.261

Chester Espresso has a softly warm, espresso-taupe ground with a closely spaced woven pattern that gives the surface a fine, tactile rhythm. Its muted brown tone reads lighter where the weave catches the light, rather than as a flat dark shade.

About this fabric

This finely woven fabric shows a small repeating loop-like motif, with both the vertical and horizontal pattern repeats measuring 3 cm. It is made from 46% viscose, 36% cotton, 14% linen and 4% polyester, creating a subtly varied surface visible in the close-up swatch. At 138 cm wide and tested to 30,000 Martindale, Chester Espresso is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. Professional dry cleaning is required; it should not be washed, bleached or ironed.

How to use it

Use the warm espresso-taupe shade to bring depth to a neutral seating scheme, where its fine woven texture can sit comfortably beside cream, oatmeal or deeper brown textiles. It is equally suited to relaxed curtains or a coordinated bedspread when a softly patterned neutral is preferred.

A finely textured warm taupe neutral that works across tailored upholstery, curtains and bedspreads.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Chester Espresso without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
