About this fabric

This colourway reads as a warm carnelian red with a slightly burnt, saturated depth rather than a flat primary red. The velvet pile shows a gentle nap and a subtle tonal shift as the light moves over it, which adds softness to the bold colour. Made from 60% Polyester, 28% Recycled Polyester, 8% Acrylic and 4% Viscose, it has the practical feel expected of a hard-wearing upholstery velvet. With a Martindale rub test of 100,000 and upholstery suitability for both contract and general domestic use, it is well placed for high-traffic seating as well as curtains. The fabric is 137cm wide, plain in pattern repeat, and carries an A FR rating to BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1.

How to use it

Use this shade to bring warmth and drama to a sofa, dining chair or ottoman, or let it add richness in curtain panels where the pile can glow in daylight. It pairs especially well with brass, walnut and deep neutral surrounds.

A vivid velvet for statement seating or tailored curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
