Eildon purple

Ettrick Fabriceildon/fa1/vio

Eildon Purple shows a softly faded mauve-purple ground with an airy trailing leaf motif in pale sage and silvered cream. The result is decorative but restrained, with the leaves standing out clearly against the muted background.

About this fabric

This Ettrick fabric by Voyage Maison is a 95% cotton, 5% linen cloth with a 230gsm weight, giving it enough substance for curtains, blinds and soft furnishings. The usable width is 138cm, and the design repeats every 46cm horizontally and 50cm vertically, so the trailing botanical pattern keeps a regular, ordered rhythm across a wider drop. In this colourway, the purple reads as a cool, dusty mauve rather than a bright violet, which lets the pale leaf forms feel crisp and fresh against it. The woven surface looks gently textured and natural, with the linen content adding a slight dry character that suits the relaxed elegance of the design. It is dry clean only and iron safe, and it is not fire retardant.

How to use it

Use this shade where you want pattern without heaviness: it works well for full-length curtains, tailored Roman blinds, or cushions in a room with muted green, ivory or weathered timber finishes. The purple ground gives the scheme a settled, sophisticated depth while the pale foliage keeps it from feeling dark.

Pair with pale wood and soft sage accents for a calm, tailored look.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Eildon purple without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
