Colscott purple

Tiverton Fabriccolscot/fa1/sky

Colscott Purple pairs a soft lavender ground note with painterly botanicals in lilac, sage, blue and muted gold. The overall effect is airy and decorative, with the purple details sitting gently rather than reading dark or heavy.

About this fabric

Woven in 95% cotton and 5% linen, this 230gsm fabric has the relaxed handle you would expect from a decorative curtain cloth, and it is supplied 136cm wide with a usable width of 136cm. The pattern has a large-scale repeat of 70cm horizontally and 86.5cm vertically, which suits the generous, repeating floral medallions visible in the design. In this colourway, the purple accents are softened into lilac and mauve tones against an ivory ground, so the print feels light, fresh and slightly romantic rather than saturated. It is dry clean only and iron safe, and Voyage Maison specifies it for curtains, blinds and soft furnishings.

How to use it

Use this colourway where you want pattern without visual weight: it works well with painted woodwork, pale oak and brushed metals. The lavender and sage notes will sit comfortably in bedrooms, garden rooms or calm sitting rooms.

The pale ground and watercolour foliage keep the purple accents airy and easy to live with.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
