Portobello Blue pairs a soft ivory linen ground with cool, muted blue paisley medallions and narrow botanical stripes. The repeating vertical arrangement gives the colourway a calm, architectural rhythm.

About this fabric

This 100% linen fabric has a lightly textured natural ground, interrupted by elongated blue paisley motifs and closely detailed floral and geometric stripe bands. The blue reads as softened and slightly greyed rather than bright, creating a cool, understated contrast against the ivory background. At 132 cm wide, it is suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. The design has a 24 cm vertical repeat and a 66 cm horizontal repeat, so pattern placement should be considered when cutting larger upholstered pieces.

How to use it

Use Portobello Blue to bring a cool, quietly decorative note to an ivory or pale-grey room, particularly on a tailored chair, relaxed loose cover or full-length curtain. Repeat the blue through plain cushions or painted joinery to balance the vertical paisley and stripe layout.

A cool, quietly patterned linen suited to tailored upholstery, curtains and coordinated bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
