Seville purple

Diffusion Fabricsaville/fa1/duc

Seville Purple brings a light, painterly floral feel to the Diffusion collection, with watery lilac petals and slender grey stems set against a pale ground. The overall effect is fresh and airy rather than dark or heavy.

About this fabric

Woven in a 95% cotton, 5% linen blend, this fabric has a soft natural handle and a relaxed drape that suits curtains, blinds and soft furnishings. The 230gsm weight gives it enough substance for a decorative window treatment while still keeping the floral artwork feeling gentle and fluid. Its 70cm horizontal and 82cm vertical repeat allow the scattered branch motif to read as an expansive, floating design across a room. In this colourway, the purple is softened into lilac and lavender tones, with occasional deeper plum accents and small yellow-green centres that keep the pattern lifted.

How to use it

Use Seville Purple in a light-filled bedroom, sitting room or dressing area where the cool lilac notes can sit comfortably against pale paintwork. It pairs especially well with dove grey, chalk white and soft wood finishes for a calm, tailored look.

Pretty but airy, this lilac-toned print suits elegant curtains and blind panels.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
