Windermere purple

Windermere Purple shows a soft lilac ground with a misty, painterly botanical pattern running across the cloth. The overall effect is quietly layered, with the motif sitting into the weave rather than shouting from it.

About this fabric

This fabric is composed of 45% viscose, 25% polyester, 20% cotton and 10% linen, and it has a substantial 550gsm handle with a 12000 Martindale rating. That gives it enough body for upholstery as well as curtains and blinds, which suits the visible woven texture and the large-scale, flowing pattern repeat. The colourway reads as a cool, diluted purple with greyed undertones, so the leaves and trunk forms appear softened and atmospheric rather than bright or high contrast. Dry clean only and iron safe.

How to use it

Use it where you want a calm statement: a chair, bench or full-length curtain panel in a room with pale stone, dove grey or weathered timber. The muted purple tone works especially well with soft greens and creamy whites.

Pair this muted lilac ground with pale woods and chalky neutrals for an easy, softly layered look.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
